Grape Motif Mother-of-Pearl Ring

 This mother-of-pearl ring is inspired by the "Grape Motif Inkstone," part of the collection at the National Museum of Korea. The grape vine pattern from the inkstone has been simplified and set within a circular silver frame, with a piece of mother-of-pearl placed in the center to represent water pooled in an inkstone.  The grape vines originally carved into the inkstone naturally separate the ink pond and the inkstone surface, creating a decorative form across the piece. The lines of these vines and the soft glow of the mother-of-pearl have been reimagined within a circular frame to create this ring.

 Due to the size of the mother-of-pearl and the surrounding grape motif, wearing the ring alone makes for a bold and glamorous statement. Conversely, when worn with thin stacking rings or simple bands without patterns or stones, it blends naturally with the other rings for a more relaxed, comfortable look.

 When worn with the matching mother-of-pearl earrings, the circular shape, grape motif, and colors of the mother-of-pearl tie the two pieces together as a cohesive set.
