Jewelry work inspired by "Leafie, a Hen into the Yard"
A sprout, and a wish to live
"Leafie, A Hen Into the Wild" is a story that has long lingered in my heart. In particular, the choices and attitudes of Leafsap, and the maternal love contained within, are emotions I desperately wanted to express through jewelry.
The name "Leaf Bud" comes from the acacia tree. Therefore, the decoration on this necklace is shaped like an acacia flower. The flower decorations are colored using cloisonné techniques, aiming to convey the vibrant and gentle impression of the plant.
The pearls used are freshwater pearls. Each pearl, unique in shape, evokes the eggs the leaf sprout longs to lay and nurture. Each pearl, with its own unique shape, embodies the hope that these eggs will live on, somewhere, in their own unique form.
I was impressed by the attitude of Leaf Sprout, who made her own choice even when everyone tried to stop her, and the maternal love that was at the center of that choice, so I created this jewelry.
This work is not about interpreting 『Leafie, A Hen Into the Wild』, but rather about scenes and emotions that have long remained in the mind of a reader.
It is closer to a record transferred to the medium of jewelry.
