Learning Cloisonné – The Harmony of Colors Created by Enamel

 Cloisonné is a craft that grows more beautiful the more you look at it, and more challenging the more you learn it. While it may seem like a simple process of melting enamel onto a copper plate to add color, entirely different results are produced depending on the temperature, time, type of enamel, and pigment mixture.

 This time, I practiced the marble technique and the gradation technique. The patterns created as different colors naturally mix and flow felt like the result of intention, chance, and the properties of the materials coming together. I found it truly beautiful to see patterns emerge from such unpredictable flow, and I felt even more drawn to it because it requires such delicate control.

 Although I am still learning, through this craft, I am slowly beginning to understand the
world of harmony created by the blending of materials, temperature, and various conditions.
