How to care for a bojagi
Bojagi is not just a simple wrapping material, but a beautiful traditional item that can be used for a long time. However, since washing and storage methods differ depending on the material, proper care is required. We will guide you on the proper care of double-sided bojagi and sleeve bojagi.
How to care for double-sided wrapping cloth
Yangdan Bojagi is a high-quality silk fabric woven with different colors on the front and back, and is characterized by a subtle sheen and soft texture. Since it is a delicate material, care must be taken when washing and storing it.
✔ Washing Instructions
• Dry cleaning is recommended.
• When hand washing, use wool shampoo or silk detergent in lukewarm water (below 30℃).
• Shake gently when washing and do not soak for long periods of time.
• Adding a drop of vinegar during the final rinse will help maintain the shine of silk.
✔ Drying method
• Do not wring, remove moisture with a towel and dry naturally in a well-ventilated shaded area.
• Avoid direct sunlight as it may cause discoloration.
• Avoid using a dryer as this may cause shrinkage of the fabric.
✔ How to iron
• Set to low temperature (80~120℃), cover with a thin cloth and iron.
• When using a steam iron, keep it 5-10 cm away from the fabric.
✔ Storage method
• Store in a well-ventilated place to avoid moisture build-up.
• When storing folded, place Korean paper or cloth between the fabrics to prevent wrinkles.
How to care for your sleeve
The sleeve wrap is made of polyester, cotton, and blended materials, and is relatively easy to wash and store.
✔ Washing Instructions
• Hand wash or machine wash in lukewarm water (30-40℃).
• When using a washing machine, we recommend putting it in a laundry net and washing it with wool course.
• Do not use bleach.
✔ Drying method
• Natural drying is recommended.
• Avoid direct sunlight as drying in a place with strong sunlight may cause color change.
• Avoid using a dryer as this can cause shrinkage of the fabric. If you do use a dryer, set it to a low temperature.
✔ How to iron
• For polyester fabrics, iron with a thin cloth at low temperature (below 120℃).
• When using a steam iron, keep it at least 10 cm away from the fabric.
✔ Storage method
• Fold gently for storage. If folded too tightly, wrinkles may appear.
Double-sided wrapping cloths require delicate care, and dry cleaning is the safest. Sleeve wrapping cloths can be easily washed and stored on a daily basis. We hope you will use the carefully made wrapping cloth beautifully for a long time. 💙✨
